Report Card Procedure

The school year is divided into four nine-week grading periods. Parents will receive student report cards at the conclusion of each of these terms. The report cards for the first three quarters are to be signed and returned to the school. A $5.00 replacement fee will be assessed for lost report cards.

Progress Reports

Parents will receive mid-term reports indicating the progress of their children.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled at the end of the first and third quarters. However, parents are encouraged to schedule additional conferences with their child’s teacher as necessary to assist in the student’s progress. These teacher conferences must be scheduled after school rather than during class time or the teacher’s duty time. Extended discussions during these times reduce the teacher’s ability to give adequate attention to all students.

Final Report Card Release

Each student’s final report card will be released at the end of school only after the student’s account has been paid in full.

Grading Scale

The following ranges are assigned to the grades obtained by students in the 1st through the 12th grades. Grades for Kindergarten students are represented as symbols indicating excellent or satisfactory progress or need for improvement.

Minimum Grade Average

All students in grades one through twelve must maintain an overall C average or above to continue their education at TCS. Any student who drops below a C average will be put on academic probation for one quarter. If the student’s grades do not improve during that time, or significant academic progress is not evident, the student may be released from TCS at the end of the period of probation. Any student receiving scholarship funds must maintain an overall C average to continue receiving scholarship funds.

Academic Awards

  • Principal’s List certificates will be presented at the end of each quarter to all students receiving only A’s and good conduct marks on their report cards.

  • Honor Roll certificates will be presented at the end of each quarter to all students receiving A’s and B’s and good conduct marks on their report cards.

  • Perfect Attendance certificates will be presented at the end of each quarter to all students who maintain perfect attendance and receive good conduct marks for the quarter.

  • Honorable Attendance certificates will be presented to those students who have perfect attendance, with the exception of excused absences or tardies.

  • Students exhibiting significant discipline problems during the marking period may not be eligible for these academic awards.

  • Additional citizenship, achievement, and merit awards will be presented to deserving students at the end of each school year.

Student Assessment

Trinity Christian School uses the Stanford Achievement Test (SAT) to measure students’ academic performance level. The SAT is administered during April of each school year. The achievement test scores with explanations will be made available to student’s family.
